ok you dont want to put on a shade that you think is to light. try something a little darker on your lips. clear always works though.
its hard to say with out looking at you... go to a make up counter and as for some help.. MAC is great... or just to a drug store with a friend or your mom and ask them what they think...
pick a color that will make your lips stand out..it's fine to wear bright shade as long as you even it out with the rest of your makeup like your eyes for example.
im dark not black, but i usually do lip gloss or natural so if you want you should do the same
First go to the website of the product you wish to buy like maybelline for example. They will classiffy the color for you according to your complexion and eye color perhaps.
pick the color closest to your natural lip, unless you are going out or somthing, dont have it clashing with your outfit just make everything workk =]
